Wells works out for Jags
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/6/13) The Florida Times-Union reports that the Jaguars worked out former Cardinals running back Beanie Wells on Thursday. Wells was released by Arizona in mid-March after playing in only eight games last year because of a knee injury. He has also visited with Pittsburgh. The Jaguars might be in need of help at running back, especially in training camp, with Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) banged up. After Jones-Drew, the Jaguars have just Justin Forsett and Denard Robinson at running back.

'Bad wheel' slowing Wells?

by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (3/11/13) The Cardinals have announced the release of running back Beanie Wells. The squad saved roughly $1.3 million against the salary cap. Wells missed half of last season with a toe injury, totaling 234 yards on 88 carries (2.7 avg.) with five touchdowns, adding a lone 24-yard catch.

Cardinals still high on Wells?
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (2/22/13) The Cardinals official team website reports that Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said running back Beanie Wells can still be productive when healthy. “I think Beanie had a tough stretch this year because of the injuries,” Keim said. “He showed a lot of grit, a lot of toughness late in the year when he was able to. Some of the lower extremity injuries, his ankles, his knees, his feet, he’s had a tough time with his cut ability and his lateral movement. But Beanie is still a big horse who can finish runs and create yardage after contact, which is something that excites us.” The report says it would seem that Wells' future — even though his salary is a manageable $1.4 million this season (assuming he is a main back) — is up in the air.
