|(8/1/15) After passing his conditioning test Friday, 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman is eager to get back on the practice field Saturday, reports CSNBayArea.com.
Bowman missed the entire 2014 season after a season-ending knee injury in the 2013 NFC Championship game. He is expected to participate in the first training camp practice Saturday and is eager to make his first hit.
"That's probably the only mental thing," Bowman said. "If I deliver the hit I want to deliver, once I do that, I'll be ready."
Anquan Boldin, five others absent from 49ers OTA practice

|(5/21/15) Six players were absent from the 49ers' OTA practice on Thursday, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Those not present were wide receiver Anquan Boldin, fullback Bruce Miller, offensive linemen Alex Boone and Anthony Davis, punter Andy Lee and kicker Phil Dawson.
OTA practices are voluntary and players are not required to attend.
Linebacker NaVorro Bowman was also not present though he was given the day off by 49ers coach Jim Tomsula. Bowman missed the 2014 season after sustaining an ACL tear during the 2013 playoffs.
Healthy NaVorro Bowman impressing 49ers

|(5/16/15) 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman is doing on-field work, as he recovers from a serious knee injury.
"Bowman is looking great," coach Jim Tomsula said, per 49ers.com. "I’d say we’re treating Bow more like a vet than a post-injury vet."
49ers linebacker Bowman is 'happy' with recovery progress
|(4/29/15) 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman is pleased in his recovery from a torn ACL suffered during the 2013 NFC Championship game against Seattle. Bowman missed the entire 2014 season.
“I’m passing all the tests,” Bowman said Wednesday, midway through a voluntary minicamp, per the San Jose Mercury News. “My knee is still stable and holding up the way they expect it.
“I continue to work through the little aches I have, but that’s going to be there for at least another year, and I’ve got to figure out a way to deal with it.”
In 2013, Bowman totaled 120 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions.
|NaVorro Bowman is expected to return this season after sitting out 2014 with a knee injury. Bowman hurt his knee in the 2013 postseason, and he was unable to practice last year. But he's expected to be a full participant in training camp, and the 49ers need him with Patrick Willis and Chris Borland retired. Prior to getting hurt, Bowman was a premier linebacker in IDP formats with at least 141 total tackles from 2011-13. He also had nine sacks and three interceptions over that span, and if he returns to form as expected he should be a No. 1 linebacker in all IDP formats. He's worth drafting with a mid-round pick.
