Butler turned in another productive season with the Chargers that saw him post a career high in sacks and also find the end zone for the first time in his career. He also finished with 77 tackles (50 solo) as well as an interception and four passes defended. Butler can be considered a viable low-end option in deeper IDP formats heading into next season. | Donald Butler's season in 2012 was marred by a groin injury that cost the linebacker four games, but he should return this year at 100 percent. He finished last year with 77 total tackles (51 solo) so he was on pace to set a new career high since his best year was 2011 when he had 96 tackles. He also added 3.5 sacks, one interception, one defensive touchdown and four pass defenses. We consider Butler as a No. 3 option in IDP leagues this season. He is worth drafting with a late-round pick, and he can be a spot starter or bye-week replacement in the majority of leagues. (Updated 4/26/13) |
