by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com

Redskins confident Trent Williams will be ready for training camp

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(6/17/15) Despite missing the team's entire offseason workout program because of an ankle injury, Redskins coach Jay Gruden was confident offensive tackle Trent Williams would be ready for training camp, reports ESPN.com.

"I wish he would've gotten the work with coach Callahan," Gruden said. "Trent is a very smart guy and he's been attentive in all the meetings. I just wish he would've got the reps, but it's not really a concern. If that's my only concern going in [to camp], it's very minor so that's good."

Williams injured his left ankle at the end of last season and he experienced soreness while working out in the offseason.

Redskins OT Trent Williams (ankle) eyeing training camp return

by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer
(6/3/15) Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams is eyeing a return to the team when training camp kicks off, per The Washington Post.

Williams hurt the ankle during the last year's final game. He adjusted his offseason training to accommodate and rehab the injury but when the soreness continued it was discovered the injury was slightly more serious than anticipated.

“It’s been an ongoing thing and my mindset was to get it 100 percent before we go into camp,” Williams said. “Obviously, didn’t want any setbacks in OTAs. I want it 100 percent so I can put it behind me and give my team the best.

“We got it pinpointed to what exactly it is. It’s encouraging that we’ve got the right plan,” Williams added. “Training camp is probably the most vital thing that I need to be ready for.”

(6/3/15) Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams has not been able to participate in offseason workouts because of a lingering left ankle issue, reports CSNWashington.com. Williams dealt with the ankle issue last season and he tweaked it at a Pro Bowl practice.

Williams recently visited a foot/ankle specialist and he said the injury does not need surgery to heal correctly. Williams added that he has lost 20 pounds to help take pressure off the ankle, but he will most likely be held out until training camp.
