Stitches out of Crabtree's ankle
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/4/13) Multiple news outlets are reporting Michael Crabtree's stitches have been removed from the right ankle where he tore his Achilles. He's expected to begin rehab shortly to have a chance to play this season.

Harbaugh: Crabtree will play in '13
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/23/13) 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh indicated that Michael Crabtree's torn right Achilles will not cost him the entire season. With surgery already done, it is believed Crabtree will return within six months. Linebacker Patrick Willis said Crabtree went down after making a "simple, normal cut" after going in motion and before starting his route during 7 on 7 drills. "Crab is one of those tough guys. He can get hit hard, and he'll bounce right back up," Willis told the San Jose Mercury News. "Yesterday he stayed down a little longer than normal. You say a little prayer and hope it wasn't as bad as it looked. Unfortunately it is."

Crabtree shelved with torn Achilles
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/22/13) USA Today reports 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree tore his Achilles tendon on Tuesday. It is not known if he will try to play this season (like Terrell Suggs and Da'Quan Bowers did last year). ESPN reports that Crabtree had surgery Wednesday and is expected to be sidelined about six months. That timetable would put Crabtree out until at least some time in November.

Crabtree: I'm the No. 1 receiver
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/16/13) Whether he was motivated by the arrival of Anquan Boldin or pumped from breaking out last season, Michael Crabtree told the 49ers official website he's the team's No. 1 receiver. “I’m taking a different approach this year,” he said. “I’m the No. 1 receiver on the 49ers and you can quote me on that because I’m really working hard and I’m really trying to be the best player, one of the best in the NFL. It’s going to take a lot. I know what it’s going to take. I just need to go out there and take it. ... I’ve been quiet the past four years on who’s the No. 1 receiver. I try not to talk about that, but I’m going into my fifth-year, it’s really time to take that responsibility, be No. 1 and go out and do your job and give the fans what they want to see and give the coaches what they expect of you and that’s greatness or be the best I can be."

Crabtree excited for Kaepernick
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (3/27/13) Comcast Sports Net reports that 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree feels like he has a good rapport with Colin Kaepernick already, and he likes his relationship with Kaepernick on the field more than Alex Smith. "I think he trusted me more," Crabtree said of Kaepernick. "Playing wide receiver, you need a quarterback who trusts you. I feel like he trusted me." Crabtree produced career-highs with 85 receptions for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns last season. In three postseason games, Crabtree had 20 catches for 285 yards and three touchdowns. In 8.5 games with Smith at quarterback, Crabtree caught 43 passes for 459 yards and four touchdowns. In 10.5 games with Kaepernick, including the postseason, Crabtree had 62 receptions for 931 yards and eight touchdowns.
