Lions' Tate fires back at Cowboys' Church: 'I don't know this guy'

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1/1/15) Lions wide receiver Golden Tate responded Thursday to comments from Cowboys safety Barry Church, who vowed revenge for a blindside hit Tate had on Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee in 2012 when Tate played for Seattle.

"Man, I don't know this guy," Tate said Thursday, per ESPN. "I just now heard of him yesterday from this incident. He's trying to get on the scene, I guess. We'll see."

Church said Wednesday that Tate's hit "was the dirtiest shot I've ever seen." The hit led to a $21,000 fine for Tate, who hit Lee in the chest and chin with the crown of his helmet.

"We were talking about it on the way back from Washington, me and Sean," Church said. "He was just like, 'Man, I wish I could play so bad in this game just to give a little payback for what he did in Seattle.'

"Obviously he can't play, but we're definitely going to keep our radar out for [Tate] because that was a dirty shot. We're looking forward to seeing him. We'll definitely get him back after that, but it will be within the rules, within the rules."

Cowboys S Church seeking 'payback' on Lions WR Tate

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12/31/14) In the wake of the overturned suspension to Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, another perceived cheap shot by a current Detroit player has Cowboys safety Barry Church seeking revenge.

Church is vowing payback against receiver Golden Tate, who clobbered him on an illegal blindside block while the latter was playing for Seattle in September 2012.

"That was the dirtiest shot I've ever seen," Church told 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "We were talking about it on the way back from Washington, me and [teammate Sean Lee]. He was just like, 'Man, I wish I could play so bad in this game just give a little payback for what he did in Seattle.'

"Obviously he can't play, but we're definitely going to keep our radar out for [Tate] because that was a dirty shot. We're looking forward to seeing him. We'll definitely get him back after that, but it will be within the rules."

Cowboys' McClain, Church should be fine for Week 14

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(11/27/14) Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain (knee) and safety Barry Church (calf) both missed a short amount of time Thursday against the Eagles, but both are expected to be fine for Week 14 against the Bears, the Dallas Morning News reports.

"[McClain] was sensitive with it," owner Jerry Jones said of his linebacker's knee, "but he was able to finish. And that’s a good thing."

"[S]omebody stepped all over my calf with them cleats man, it hurts," Church said of his calf injury. "I took a couple of plays off and came back in, but I’ll be straight."

The pair of defenders will get a few extra days of rest before preparing for the team's Week 14 matchup with the Bears.

(11/9/14) The key players designated as probable by the Cowboys for their Week 10 game against Jacksonville are all ready to roll. They are linebacker Bruce Carter (finger), free safety Barry Church (shoulder), guard Ronald Leary (groin) and tackle Jermey Parnell (chest).

Cowboys unveil final injury report for London game

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/7/14) The Cowboys have unveiled its final injury report for Sunday's clash in London against Jacksonville. Tyrone Crawford (knee) was the only player on the list ruled out for the game. Nick Hayden (shoulder) and Rolando McClain (knee, groin) were deemed questionable.

Tony Romo (back), arguably the most notable name on the report, practiced in full Friday and was ruled probable for Sunday. The following players also received the green light and were labeled probable: Bruce Carter (finger), Barry Church (shoulder), Jack Crawford (calf), Doug Free (foot), Jack Hanna (hamstring), Anthony Hitchens (chest), Ronald Leary (groin), Jermey Parnell (chest) and Anthony Spencer (knee, foot).
