|(2/19/15) The misdemeanor domestic violence charge against Saints linebacker Junior Galette has been dismissed, per a statement by his attorney. The Kenner City Attorney's Office confirmed the dismissal, per the New Orleans Adovcate.
"This happened after the four witnesses in the case were interviewed and after further investigation," attorney Ralph Whalen said. "The case will not be prosecuted."
The woman who accused Galette of beating her has filed a civil lawsuit against the Saints linebacker, the Associated Press reports. The lawsuit also contains allegations against other Saints players.
Whalen said Thursday that the lawsuit is "filled with lies" and was filed only after his client rejected a $2 million "shakedown."
"We unequivocally rejected their offer because we are confident an investigation and a full hearing of the facts will reveal that Junior Galette behaved appropriately and will be cleared," Whalen said.
Galette was arrested and booked with misdemeanor battery on Jan. 5 after the police responded to a disturbance at his home in Kenner, a suburb of New Orleans.

|(1/22/15) Saints general manager Mickey Loomis told reporters Wednesday that the team will let outside linebacker Junior Galette's legal process and NFL investigative process run its course. Galette was arrested and booked on a misdemeanor charge of simple battery, including domestic violence earlier on Jan. 5.
"I'm concerned about it, obviously. We should all be concerned about it. That's a serious matter," Loomis said. "We're going to wait until the legal system runs its course, and the league obviously will do their investigation."
Loomis acknowledged he has not had any contact with Galette following the incident, but noted that the team's security director had been in contact with him as of two weeks ago. Loomis also noted that he is unsure of the league had begun its independent investigation on Galette.

Both attorneys in the case, Ralph Whalen and Joe Raspanti, both said they have witnesses who will bolster their respective clients case.
