Kap, Boldin bonding in minicamp
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (6/12/13) The San Jose Mercury News reports quarterback Colin Kaepernick and receiver Anquan Boldin appear to be building chemistry during 49ers minicamp. Not only did they work together in first-team drills but they talked on the sideline and even joked around with each other, suggesting they're getting along. Kaepernick has had a good offseason according to the coaching staff and looked especially poised and sharp in minicamp drills. "He's light years ahead of where he was last year," offensive coordinator Greg Roman said.

Kaepernick loses top receiver
by Jamey Eisenberg \| Senior Fantasy Writer (5/22/13) USA Today reports 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree tore his Achilles tendon on Tuesday and will undergo surgery. It is not known if he will try to play this season. That's a tough blow for quarterback Colin Kaepernick since Crabtree was clearly his No. 1 receiver. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that in Kaepernick's 10 starts in 2012 he targeted Crabtree more than any other receiver. The target breakdown was Crabtree with 94, Vernon Davis with 39 and Randy Moss with 39.

Kap working on speed
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (4/10/13) If you're a fan of Colin Kaepernick, you're going to love this: The quarterback has spent part of the offseason working on improving his speed. The Sacramento Bee reports Kaepernick enlisted in the help of former all-American track runner Monica Hargrove to become a more efficient runner. Per the report, he proved stamina isn't an issue as he ran nine straight 150-meter sprints in 18 seconds or less. Kaepernick has also worked on improving his strength this offseason.

Kaepernick already training for '13

Colin Kaepernick waited nine days before reporting for duty at CES Performance in Atlanta. There, he began working out with the linemen and putting in a workout regimen that included Running, lifting and -- no joke -- tethered swimming. Kaepernick has been training at CES since before he was drafted. "He's definitely not a prima donna," trainer Aaron Roberts told the San Francisco Chronicle. "He's not asking for special treatment. He wants to work out with the linemen, for crying out loud. He wants to get in the mix right off the bat. When I first heard he would be here so soon, I was like, 'OK, man, go take a vacation for a minute.' But I guess he's going to put that on hold."

Kaepernick getting back to work
by Dave Richard \| Senior Fantasy Writer (2/5/13) After telling the media Tuesday that he'll remember the 2012 season "as not being good enough," Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick is planning to spend a lot of time this offseason in Atlanta, bringing his receivers in for workouts. Kaepernick plans on beginning that process this week.
