Johnson gets pair of sacks: Carolina defensive end Charles Johnson played well Sunday in the season finale at New Orleans. He had two sacks against Drew Brees to finish the season with 12.5. He also had 41 tackles on the year.

Johnson is a standout defensive lineman heading into 2013, and he should be considered one of the first players drafted at his position. Plan on Johnson being selected with a mid- to late-round pick.

| The Panthers' best pass rusher, at least statistically, is Charles Johnson. In three seasons he's totaled 33 sacks and 143 total tackles (41 tackles and 12.5 sacks in 2012), so he's been a quality stat contributor. We should see more big numbers from him this season. He's worth rolling the dice on as a low-end No. 1 defensive lineman with a mid-round pick. (Updated 4/26/13) |
