Panthers not expecting DE Greg Hardy back this season
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(11/18/14) After the league's decision to suspend Adrian Peterson for the remainder of the season, Panthers coach Ron Rivera is not expecting defensive end Greg Hardy back this season, calling it a "dead issue," according to ESPN.
Like Peterson, Hardy was placed on the Exempt/Commissioner's Permission list in mid-September. His domestic violence trial was delayed from Nov. 17 until early next year. He is expected to be a free agent at the end of the season.
When asked if the team would have any interest in bringing him back next season, Rivera said, "We'll see. That's all a part of the evaluation process. It's also of a part of dealing with the salary cap and all those other issues that come up with guys that are free agents."

Panthers DL Greg Hardy has trial date pushed back to early 2015

|(11/4/14) Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy had his trial date postponed from Nov. 17 to early 2015, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's office announced in a statement Tuesday. Hardy has been awaiting a jury trial for domestic violence charges.
An exact date for the trial has not been set, per the Charlotte Observer. The district attorney's office explained Tuesday the date was moved because of a crowded court docket.
"The District Attorney’s Office must now adjust the dockets in several courtrooms, affecting multiple cases that had been scheduled for the coming weeks," the statement said. "These changes will affect the Domestic Violence Team’s cases scheduled for the week of Nov. 17. A number of matters must be continued."
Hardy has been on the Exempt/Commissioner's Permission list since mid-September. It is unknown how this latest news will impact his playing status for the rest of the season.

Report: Panthers end Greg Hardy to have trial pushed back
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(10/30/14) Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy will have his trial pushed back until after the season, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
Hardy's trial was initially expected to take place in mid-November, but has been pushed until some time after the season. Hardy started the first game of the season for the Panthers before being placed on the Exempt/Commissioner's Permission list. Hardy is awaiting jury trial on domestic violence charges.
|In 2012 Greg Hardy finished as a Top 5 defensive lineman. In 2013 he faltered, finishing sixth overall. Sarcasm aside, Hardy has established himself as one of the best D-linemen in Fantasy Football, posting a whopping 15 sacks to go with 59 total tackles, a forced fumble and a pass defensed. What isn't a laughing matter is a domestic incident he was involved in off the field in May. He could be subject to discipline by the NFL for it. But overall he's a solid No. 1 Fantasy DL worth a pick soon after the Robert Quinns and J.J. Watts of the world are taken. He could even be considered a nice value pickup in the middle rounds.
