| Barber taking his time |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (3/9/13) The Tampa Bay Times reports Saturday that Tampa Bay's front office have told defensive back Ronde Barber that they would like him to return for a 17th season. According to Barber, he may need a some time before he makes his decision. "They want me to play, but they have left it up to me like they have pretty much every year," Barber said. "I've got time, so I'm going to take my time."

| Ronde Barber had a renaissance season last year, his 16th. He had 91 total tackles, four interceptions, a sack, 17 passes defensed and a touchdown. As a result he was back as a Top 12 defensive back. A move to safety greatly helped Barber's numbers. We'll see where he winds up, if anywhere, in his 17th season, but keep in mind there is a chance of a decline in production depending on his role. (Updated 4/26/13) |
