GM: Barber moving to safety: Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said in a post-draft interview that the team is leaning toward moving Ronde Barber to safety. Barber signed a one-year deal in late March, meaning that he'll play for the Bucs for the 16th straight year. (Updated 05/11/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
The move to safety should impact Barber's tackle totals negatively but he should still come up big against the pass. He's not a bad No. 3 Fantasy DB based on his expected decline in tackles but his expected gain in interceptions and pass defense stats from week to week. (Updated 05/11/2012).
Ronde Barber will play in his 16th season in 2012, which is quite an accomplishment -- but Fantasy owners can't celebrate. Barber's production began to tail off last season, and as a result the team is expected to move him to safety. That should put a cap on the number of tackles he has but could open the door for him to remain valuable as a pass defender. He's worth a late pick in drafts but isn't the Fantasy stud we were using weekly as recently as 2010. (Updated 5/11/12)
