Report: Raiders LB Nick Roach could miss 2015 season
|by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com|
|(2/18/15) Raiders linebacker Nick Roach's 2015 season could be in doubt already.
According to the San Francisco Chroncle, Roach may be forced to sit out this coming season due to recurring headaches stemming from a concussion sustained last preseason.
Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie was asked about Roach's status during his media availability on Wednesday.
“[T]hat decision is up to Nick and the medical staff," McKenzie said. "I am not going to rush him to play when mentally he’s not ready.”
In 2013, Roach recorded 112 tackles, four forced fumbles and one interception — all of which were single-season bests. Prior to signing with Oakland in 2013, Roach spent six seasons with the Bears.
Raiders place LB Nick Roach on season-ending IR

|(10/8/14) The Raiders have placed linebacker Nick Roach on the season-ending injury reserve list due to the lingering effects from a concussion, the Bay Area News Group reports. Roach, who played every game last season, suffered the brain injury in an exhibition game against the Packers on Aug. 22 and was never medically cleared for full contact.
The team signed Jamar Chaney to take his spot on the roster.
Raiders release injury report for Sunday clash
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(9/26/14) The Raiders have announced their injury report for the Sunday game in London against Miami. As expected, linebacker Sio Moore (ankle), quarterback Matt Schaub (non-injury related) and wide receiver Rod Streater (foot) have all been ruled out.
Linebackers Miles Burris (foot) and Nick Roach (concussion) and cornerback Chimdi Chekwa (knee) are questionable while tackle Matt McCants (knee) and running back Maurice Jones-Drew (hand) are probable.
Raiders might be down two starting LBs Week 4
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(9/24/14) With Miles Burris (foot), Sio Moore (ankle) and Nick Roach (concussion) all recovering from injuries, the Raiders might have to start Kaluka Maiava and Bojay Filimoeatu at linebacker alongside Khalil Mack during Sunday's game against the Dolphins, according to CSNBayArea.com.
"We’ll continue to monitor that situation, but I’m hopeful that one or maybe two of (the injured players) could be ready," head coach Dennis Allen said. "We’ll just have to see how the week goes."
|Nick Roach had a career year in 2013 with 111 tackles (82 solo), 5.5 sacks and one interception. All those stats were career-high stats, and he played like a No. 2 linebacker in IDP leagues. Roach is worth drafting with a late-round pick in all IDP formats, and hopefully we can see another 100-tackle season with a good amount of sacks and turnovers.
