Thomas ran with Saints' starters

(6/10/13) Though it was just a June minicamp, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that Pierre Thomas ran with the first-team offense along with Darren Sproles while Mark Ingram worked with the second-string. Over the last two years Ingram received more carries than any running back on the roster. The paper speculates that the "hot hand" will pick up the most work at running back from week to week.

(5/9/13) Pierre Thomas told the New Orleans Times-Picayune that head coach Sean Payton will make it a point to run the football more this season than in the past. "He said we definitely need to get back to that ground game," Thomas said. "There's going to be more focus this year on that ground game than any year. He said we've got to get back to running the ball, having 100-yard games non-stop. I can't wait. I'm excited and I know everybody else is excited."
