Thumb injury sidelines Wilber: Cowboys linebacker Kyle Wilber suffered a broken thumb in the first half of Monday's preseason game against Oakland and is expected to be sidelined three to four weeks, the Dallas Morning News reports. Team owner Jerry Jones said Wilber, the Cowboys' fourth-round pick out of Wake Forest in last April's draft, will likely need surgery. His status for the start of the regular season is questionable. Wilber has displayed a quick step off the edge during the early part of training camp this summer, but will require more time on the sidelines. He missed most of the team's offseason practices after breaking a finger in his right hand, but seemed to move past that issue. Fantasy owners should continue monitoring his status, however, he's not worth a selection in IDP drafts as he might not be ready for Week 1. (Updated 8/14/12). |
