LeSean McCoy stands by his word
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/3/14) Eagles running back LeSean McCoy stands by what he said about being the best running back in the NFL, even if that bother Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, reports ESPN.

McCoy, who beat Peterson for the NFL rushing title last season, believes himself the most complete back in the league. That led to a media back-and-forth with Peterson last month, which started when McCoy said he was the NFL's best back.

"I don't know how people may take that," McCoy said after Monday's practice session. "It was a question I was just being honest about. I can't worry about how other people think about it. That's why we work every day. That's why I try to perfect my game. So that if people want to prove me wrong, they can."

LeSean McCoy: I'm better than Adrian Peterson
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(5/20/14) Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, who led the league with 1,607 rushing yards last season, said he's surpassed the Vikings' Adrian Peterson as the NFL's best back.

"My brother always rips me all the time, trying to make me play harder," McCoy said on ESPN. "I say, 'I'm the best,' and he'll say, 'Did Adrian Peterson retire?' I look at the last three years and everything. I think AP has been the best back for so long, and he's been doing it for so long, that's why he automatically gets the best running back [title].

"But the last three years? I've been All-Pro, first-team, twice. I never leave the field. I block. I catch. I never leave the field. I don't have anybody do my job; I do it myself. Tons of credit goes out to Adrian Peterson. I'm a big fan of his, for sure. But I feel I'm the best."

Eagles address WR need with Jordan Matthews
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/9/14) The Eagles needed a receiver with DeSean Jackson gone, and they addressed the position by drafting Vanderbilt's Jordan Matthews in the second round.

Matthews will likely be No. 3 on the depth chart behind Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper, and he will have minimal Fantasy value in 2014. He should, however, help Nick Foles and the Eagles offense.

Matthews is a good receiver, but he's not a burner, which the Eagles will miss with Jackson gone. Still, this receiving corps is starting to look solid with Maclin, Cooper, Matthews, Zach Ertz, LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.

It should only help Folk, who depended heavily on Jackson last year. He's still a low-end No. 1 Fantasy quarterback, but he's a great one to wait for with a late-round pick.

As for Matthews, he's only worth a late-round flier in standard leagues, and he's a solid second-round pick in rookie-only formats.

Eagles will be OK even without DeSean Jackson
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/6/14) The Eagles lost DeSean Jackson this offseason, and Fantasy owners are concerned their offense could struggle without a deep threat down the field. It's possible, but there's still plenty of talent for Fantasy owners to tap into even though Jackson is gone.

For an in-depth look at some of the top Eagles players -- Nick Foles, LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper and Zach Ertz -- check out this blog I wrote in looking at their preseason outlooks. A lot can change between now and the start of the season, but here is one view on the Eagles heading into this year.

LeSean McCoy optimistic about addition of Darren Sproles
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(4/26/14) Eagles featured back LeSean McCoy has claimed that the addition of Darren Sproles will prove beneficial to his own production. McCoy cited overwork he experienced in 2013.

"I think 366 touches is a lot," he told ESPN. "Being in the prime of my career and bringing in a guy like Sproles who can do so much, we'll work well together. I think having me fresh in the fourth quarter with fewer carries can be even more dangerous."

McCoy already boasts the NFL record for fourth-quarter touchdowns of 40 yards or more with seven. He led all backs last season with 441 yards and a 5.96 per-carry average in the fourth quarter. It is believed keeping him fresher might make those numbers even better.
