Fantasy Analysis
Sheard entered Week 15 with a forearm injury, but was able to get to the quarterback twice. He now has 48 tackles on the year for the Browns. Fantasy owners in IDP formats should consider Sheard a low-end DL option. (Updated 12/18/2011).
05/08/2012 17:00 Third-down sacks: Seeking biggest stops a defense can get
In an era when passing games rule the day, the biggest job for a defense is to get third-down sacks. Pat Kirwan says that's why finding players who can deliver those -- as the Ravens and Giants do best -- is high priority.
Jabaal Sheard has plenty to live up to if he wants to be a success again in 2012, but he'll have the opportunity to do it. Sheard totaled 55 tackles and 8.5 sacks with a pair of passes defensed and five forced fumbles as a rookie. With his playing time fairly limited in the early part of the season, there's a chance he can get bigger numbers in his second season. The defensive lineman is worth drafting as a No. 2 option worth a middle- to late-round pick. (Updated 4/20/12)
