|League suspends Panthers DE Frank Alexander until Week 15 |
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
(10/1/14) Panthers defensive end Frank Alexander has been suspended for the next 10 games by the league, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. He had already been suspended for four games for violating the NFL substance abuse policy.
Alexander played in all but four games the past two seasons. But he will not be eligible to play again until Week 15. That would allow him to play just three games in 2014.

(5/2/14) Panthers defensive end Frank Alexander has been suspended without pay for the team's first four games of the 2014 regular season for violating the NFL policy and program for substances of abuse, the team announced Friday.
He will be eligible to return to the Panthers' active roster on Monday, Sept. 29 following the team's game against the Ravens on Sept. 28. Alexander may participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.
The two-year veteran played in 12 games with three starts last season and posted 12 tackles, one sack, five quarterback pressures, one fumble recovery and two passes defensed.
