Redskins OLB Ryan Kerrigan nearly recovered from knee surgery

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(7/3/15) Redskins outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan appears to be on target to join the team for training camp after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery that prevented him from participating in earlier offseason activities.

Kerrigan, who registered a career-high 13 1/2 sacks a year ago, had the operation to alleviate pain in the area.

"My leg feels really good and I'm glad I got the surgery - not just for football but it makes my everyday life feel better so I'm glad I got it done," he told CSN Washington. "Now it's just a matter of getting stronger and getting into shape."

Kerrigan added that he's been running and now only needs to regain strength to insure his place at training camp.

Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan will miss start of OTA's

(5/20/15) The Redskins will be without linebacker Ryan Kerrigan during the start of OTA's, per NFL.com.

Kerrigan underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and it is unclear how much time he will miss because of the procedure, though it is not considered to be serious.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection has never missed a game in his four-year career.

Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan progressing in contract talks

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(5/11/15) Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is getting closer to a contract extension to keep him in Washington beyond the 2015 season, according to ESPN.com.

The two sides have been pushing for a long-term deal, but there is no timetable for the completion.

"Just the fact that we're in negotiations proves we want to be around us for a long time," McCloughan said. "I want him to have a second contract and hopefully a third contract with the Redskins. He's what I look for in a football player. Every day he's there trying to make himself better."

Kerrigan is just going with the flow.

"It sounded like talks were progressing pretty well," said Kerrigan, the host of the Leukemia Golf Classic at Lansdowne Resort Monday. "It'll happen as it happens. But of course it's in the back of your mind because it's a big deal. It's a big thing that could happen. Hopefully we get that done."

Kerrigan racked up a career high 13 1/2 sacks in 2014 and has totaled 38 sacks in the first four years of his career.

Redskins leave RG3 off of letter to season-ticket owners

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(2/5/15) Either it was a simple mistake or an indication of how the Redskins truly feel about quarterback Robert Griffin III.

In a letter sent to season-ticket holders, the Redskins thanks fans for their support while mentioning the core group of players that are poised to lead the organization back into the winning column. One notable name was left off.

"Head Coach Jay Gruden, new General Manager Scot McCloughan, and Defensive Coordinator Joe Barry will lead a nucleus of Ryan Kerrigan, DeSean Jackson, plus Pro Bowlers Trent Williams and Alfred Morris. The Redskins are poised to rebound next season!" the letter read, via The Washington Post.

Griffin, the Redskins' No. 2 overall pick in 2012, was not included in this group.

Griffin enjoyed phenomenal success as a rookie, throwing for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns and five touchdowns while running for 815 yards and seven touchdowns. Following an ACL tear during the 2012 postseason, Griffin hasn't been the same. After returning from a dislocated ankle this past season, Griffin was benched in favor of Colt McCoy.

Griffin played in nine games in 2014 and threw for 1,694 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions.

Redskins list Hatcher, Baker, Biggers as questionable

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(12/5/14) The Redskins released their final injury report Friday and listed Jason Hatcher (knee), Chris Baker (chest) and E.J. Biggers (concussion) as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Rams.

The Redskins also listed the following players as probable: Ryan Clark, Will Compton, Ryan Kerrigan, Silas Redd and Tyler Polumbus.
