Fantasy Analysis
Fleener came into 2012 as a Draft Day sleeper because of his history playing with rookie quarterback Andrew Luck at Stanford. Fleener didn't disappoint in his NFL debut, totaling six catches for 82 yards at Chicago. Sadly, that was the highlight of Fleener's rookie campaign. He never got close to that production again and even missed four games due to injury. Fellow rookie Dwayne Allen eventually became the more reliable pass-catching tight end for Indianapolis. It has been speculated the Colts are looking to utilize Allen and Fleener long-term like the Patriots use tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. If that happens, then that would be great news for Fantasy owners. However, it's just speculation at this time. Despite a disappointing rookie season, Fleener still has long-term potential. It's just that he will at best be a late-round Fantasy pick in 2013. (Updated 1/6/13).
