Which QB's should you target on waivers?
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/30/14) With just two teams on bye and few teams dealing with serious injuries at the position, there aren't many needs to fill at quarterback this week. Still, Jamey Eisenberg's Week 5 Waiver-Wire column highlights a handful of names you might want to target before waivers run Wednesday morning.

Giants QB Eli Manning headlines the list of add-worthy quarterbacks, after he lit up Washington for five touchdowns last week. He was featured on the waiver-wire column last week as well. Carson Palmer (shoulder) of the Cardinals is also on the list, as is Joe Flacco of the Ravens, Alex Smith of the Chiefs, Blake Bortles of the Jaguars and Teddy Bridgewater (ankle) of the Vikings to round out the top-5.

Kirk Cousins, Jake Locker and Geno Smith are mentioned as potentially droppable options, if you need a roster spot.

Joe Flacco throws three touchdowns in Week 4 win
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/28/14) Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco tossed three touchdowns, including two to veteran receiver Steve Smith, in Sunday's 38-10 rout of Carolina. Flacco completed 22 of 31 passes for 327 yards and no interceptions, while rushing for 3 yards on one carry.

Flacco did most of his damage by halftime, as he completed 13 of 21 passes for 228 yards and had a quarterback rating of 130.7 in the first half. Flacco also had both of his touchdown passes to Smith in the second quarter. The first one was a 61-yard touchdown pass that Smith took to the house after catching a deflection off tight end Owen Daniels' hands. The second touchdown was a 21-yard pass to Smith with 1:53 left in the first half, which came after Flacco picked up a fumbled snap.

Flacco threw for multiple touchdowns for the second time in four games. He has seven passing touchdowns to two interceptions this season. The Ravens are back in action Week 5 at Indianapolis.

Ravens' Week 4 game not all about Steve Smith vs. former team
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/25/14) The storyline building for Sunday's Panthers and Ravens showdown centers around Baltimore veteran receiver Steve Smith facing his former team for the first time since leaving Carolina in the offseason.

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is well aware Smith will be looking to have a good outing against the team he spent the first 13 years of his career with, but he also realizes in order for Baltimore to have success, the team can't get caught up in Smith's personal agenda.

"If I pay attention to that maniac on Sunday, who knows how I’m going to play?" Flacco said, per ESPN. "He’s going to want the ball -- probably every single down -- and if I don’t get it to him, and I pay attention to how he reacts to that, then I’m going to be in trouble, and I’m going to feel bad, and then we’re not going to play the way we should."

Smith is fine with Flacco calling him a "maniac" because he realizes Flacco knows he plays "with a passion." The two have already built good rapport through three games, as Smith has totaled 18 catches for 290 yards and one touchdown.

"When you have a guy that runs routes and is in the right place and gets open, it’s tough not to have chemistry with him," Flacco said.

Joe Flacco comes in big in crunch time for defeat of Browns
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/21/14) Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco put up mediocre numbers Sunday in Cleveland, but one perfect pass all but sealed a victory.

Flacco hit wide receiver Steve Smith with a pinpoint strike for 33 yards with just over a minute remaining to set up the game-winning field goal. He hit Smith in stride to allow him to leave the field happy despite having completed just 19 of 31 passes for 217 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The veteran did hit on 10 consecutive throws in the second half. He managed to pass for just 86 yards before intermission, though he did find fullback/tight end Kyle Juszczyk for a 9-yard score six minutes into the second quarter. His interception came off a wounded duck when he was hit on a pass early in the fourth quarter, but it resulted in no points.

Flacco will seek more heroics when his team hosts Carolina in Week 4.

Joe Flacco ready to roll in Week 3
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/21/14) As expected, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has been given the green light to play Sunday in Cleveland. He had been designated as probable with an illness that kept him sidelined Wednesday. He will be battling the 28th-ranked pass defense in the NFL.
