Joe Flacco throws for two TDs in Ravens' Week 7 win
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(10/19/14) Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco threw two touchdowns and two interceptions during a 29-7 win Week 7 vs. Atlanta. Flacco completed 16 of 25 passes for 258 yards, while rushing for 4 yards on one carry.
Flacco got off to a quick start Sunday, as he finished off the team's opening drive with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Owen Daniels. While the Ravens built a 17-0 halftime lead, Flacco didn't get his second touchdown pass until the team's final offensive drive in the fourth quarter. On a fourth-and-9 with 1:46 left, Flacco connected with Torrey Smith for a 39-yard touchdown.
Flacco came close to a three-touchdown game Sunday, but he was intercepted in the end zone on a third-and-9 play from the Falcons' 16-yard line late in the third quarter.

Joe Flacco looking to keep soaring vs. Falcons
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(10/16/14) Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has rebounded nicely from a lost 2013 season, and now ranks eighth among quarterbacks in Fantasy scoring through six games. Can he keep it going in Week 7 against the Falcons?
Flacco torched the Buccaneers last week, and will look to keep it going against another NFC South opponent. The Falcons opened the season looking like an improved pass defense, as they held their first three opponents to 15.0 Fantasy points per game from the quarterback position. However, each of their last three have topped 20 points, with four total touchdowns and no turnovers over that stretch.
Flacco has faced the Falcons just once, back in 2010, so we probably cannot take much out of his 25-point effort. Still, the Falcons' pass defense is reeling at the same time Flacco is taking off, so Fantasy owners should consider him a solid starting option this week.
Big game the start of something for Joe Flacco?
|by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer|
|(10/12/14) Most likely, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco just had his best game of the season Week 6 at Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers ranked 30th against the pass coming into the game, having been shredded by the Falcons' Matt Ryan on Thursday night just a couple weeks ago, and Flacco himself is not Peyton Manning or Drew Brees heading up one of the most prolific passing games in the NFL.
But he gave everyone a reminder of what kind of weapons the Ravens have with his five-touchdown performance Sunday.
Steve Smith we already knew about. He contributed one of those touchdowns in usual Steve Smith-fashion, beating the defense on a 56-yard bomb early in the second quarter. But Torrey Smith, who seemed to have vanished from the offense for the first five weeks, also got in on the act, catching the first two of Flacco's touchdowns.
With the Ravens' running game still searching for its identity -- and seemingly the best of their options, Justin Forsett, thriving as a pass catcher as well -- Flacco might be asked to make better use of those weapons going forward. And while he may not be as successful against premier defenses, the Ravens host the Falcons in Week 7.
If you've gotten burned at quarterback so far, maybe Flacco is a better choice than someone like Ben Roethlisberger or Andy Dalton.
Ravens backup pass catchers find a way Week 6

|(10/12/14) The Ravens backup pass catchers found a way to contribute Week 6.
Michael Campanaro managed to catch one of Joe Flacco's many touchdowns Sunday. He pulled in two passes for 28 yards. Kamar Aiken also hauled in a touchdown. He finished with two catches for 20 yards before leaving with a concussion.
Owen Daniels also had two receptions, but finished third on the team with 34 yards. Kyle Juszczyk also caught two passes, gaining 29 yards. Crockett Gillmore gained 16 yards on two receptions.
They'll take on the Falcons Week 7.
Ravens' Joe Flacco dominates during the first half
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(10/12/14) Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco dominated during the first half Week 6.
Flacco wasted no time getting to work, tossing a touchdown on his second attempt of the game. He would throw his second touchdown just two attempts later. In fact, the team's first four drives ended in Joe Flacco touchdown passes, tying a career-high. He didn't stop there, finding Steve Smith on a 56 yard strike in the second quarter. At halftime, Flacco had already thrown for five touchdowns.
Flacco finished 21 of 29 with 306 yards and five touchdowns. He did not turn the ball over during the contest. Flacco will look for more Week 7 against the Falcons.

NFL Power Rankings: Seahawks, Bengals look beatable, Colts on rise
The Seahawks fall back to earth in St. Louis, the Bengals are suddenly without bite, and the Bolts fall from No. 1, while the Colts make a move into the top three.
|An improved receiving corps, a rejuvenated offensive line and a change in play callers isn't enough to get excited about Joe Flacco for Fantasy purposes. While he remains a quality quarterback for the Ravens, he's been overshadowed statistically by plenty of other passers. Over the last two seasons he has just 11 games with 20-plus Fantasy points; by comparison Peyton Manning and Drew Brees each had more than that in 2013 alone. But Baltimore got Flacco help, signing Steve Smith to play alongside Torrey Smith and improving the offensive line. Inking ex-Texans head coach Gary Kubiak to a deal also means a shift in philosophy, one that should mean more balance to the offense. Is it enough to turn Flacco into a legit Fantasy starter? Probably not, but aiming for him as a backup with one of your last three picks has potential to pay off.
