(10/11/13) Redskins defensive end Jarvis Jenkins missed the first for games of the season while serving a suspension, but told ESPN.com he expects to make his season debut Sunday against the Cowboys in Week 6.
"I think I'll go play, I don't know how much," Jenkins said. "Coach told me he wanted to ease me into it. He didn't want to just throw me in there. I had four weeks off so he'll ease into it and see how it goes the first couple quarters and that will determine my play the rest of the game."
Jenkins is not going to start the game, but is expected to come off the bench behind Kedric Golston.
|Mike Shanahan delivers message to suspended players |
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
(8/28/13) Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said he's already spoken with defensive end Jarvis Jenkins and linebacker Rob Jackson, who will both serve four-game suspensions at the outset of the season for violations of the NFL’s policy on banned performance-enhancing substances.
"I’ve already talked to them about the message," Shanahan said Tuesday, per The Washington Post. "I think the message is very obvious. After Saturday evening, we cannot talk to them until they come back. We want them to stay in great shape and when they do come back, hopefully they help our football team win. And the only way they are going to do that is if they do the little things over the next four weeks."
