Jerry Jones: Cowboys will 'franchise' Dez Bryant if necessary
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(12/23/14) With Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant set to become a free agent at the end of the season, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on his weekly radio show on Tuesday that the Cowboys will use the franchise tag if they cannot reach a contract agreement with Bryant, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Bryant has been in negotiations with the Cowboys on a long-term contract extension, but if a deal cannot be reached, Jones said Bryant will play for the Cowboys in 2015.
Bryant has become one of the top receivers in the NFL. He currently leads the league with 14 touchdown receptions to go along with 84 receptions for 1,221 yards.
Cowboys WR Dez Bryant makes NFL-high 14th touchdown catch

|(12/21/14) Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant leads the NFL with 14 receiving touchdowns after hauling in a 24-yard score Week 16 against the Colts. Bryant caught all five of his targets for 73 yards, and didn't play much in the second half with the game getting out of hand.
Bryant set a career high with his 14th touchdown after he recorded 13 last year and 12 the year before. Bryant visits the Redskins in the regular-season finale.
Tony Romo, Dez Bryant have a good thing going
|by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer|
|(12/15/14) After beginning the season in more of a game-manager role, doing his part to make DeMarco Murray the best rusher in the game, the Cowboys' Tony Romo has gotten back to being an elite Fantasy quarterback in recent weeks. Week 15 at Philadelphia was his fourth game in five with at least three touchdown passes. He's the seventh-best passer in standard CBSSports.com leagues during that stretch -- and that's including his Week 11 bye.
The most interesting part about the turnaround is that he hasn't thrown the ball more during it. In fact, just the opposite: He has averaged 27.8 pass attempts in his last five games compared to 30.3 in his previous eight. The key has been putting the ball in his best playmaker's hands.
Dez Bryant was at his lowest of lows in the two games prior to this five-game stretch. He scored a touchdown in each, but on a combined 45 yards. Romo found him six times for 158 yards and two touchdowns the following week and has gone on to average 102.6 yards with seven touchdowns in his last five games. That's compared to 70.6 with six in his first nine.
Now that the two are in sync, it's led to some magical numbers on both ends, and neither of the Cowboys' matchups to close out the season figures to end it. In Week 16 against Indianapolis, they'll probably have to throw more just to keep pace with the Colts' scoring.
Cowboys WR Dez Bryant scores three TDs vs. Eagles
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(12/14/14) Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant caught six of his seven targets for 114 yards with three touchdowns in his team's 38-27 win over the Eagles in Week 15.
Bryant started his scoring night by outmuscling a defender for a four-yard touchdown in the first quarter before adding a 26-yard score early in the second quarter to put the Cowboys up 21-0. The Eagles stormed back to take the lead in the third quarter before the Cowboys retook the lead at the end of the third, then extended it in the fourth on a 25-yard touchdown by the star receiver.
Bryant hadn't scored in either of his previous two games before his barrage of points Sunday. He has racked up 79 receptions, 1,148 yards and 13 touchdowns going into a Week 16 matchup with the Colts.
Cowboys WR Dez Bryant manages 82 yards vs. Bears
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(12/5/14) Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant caught six of his eight targets for a team-high 82 yards in his team's 41-28 win over the Bears in Week 14.
Bryant watched running back DeMarco Murray pile up 41 touches while the passing game took a backseat, but quarterback Tony Romo threw three touchdowns in the win and none went to his No. 1 receiver. It's the second straight game in which Bryant hasn't reached the end zone after racking up six scores in a four-game span. He'll look to get back on the scoreboard in Week 15 against the Eagles, a team that held him to 73 yards and no touchdowns on four catches in Week 13.

The 2015 Pro Bowl will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.
|Dez Bryant has been a beast each of the past two seasons, and we don't expect him to slow down this year. Bryant had 93 catches for 1,233 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2013 and now has 185 catches for 2,615 yards and 25 touchdowns the past two seasons. He was No. 6 in Fantasy points in standard leagues last season, and he closed the year with a touchdown in five games in a row. We hope he picks up where last season left off, and Bryant could see a boost in production with Miles Austin gone. Bryant is worth drafting as a No. 1 Fantasy receiver with a pick in Round 2 or 3. He continues to improve, and we hope he has another season with at least 90 catches, 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns.
