Report: State Attorney doesn't file charges against Pouncey brothers
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(10/22/14) The Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney has decided Dolphins offensive lineman Mike Pouncey and Steelers offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey will not be charged in connection with an altercation at their birthday party inside Cameo Nightclub this summer, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Miami Beach police investigated claims made by a South Florida man that alleges the brothers assaulted him during the party. Miami Beach police turned over all the information it gathered during the investigation to the state attorney's office, which decided there wasn't enough evidence to file charges.
"This confirms that the previous claim that the brothers were involved was false and fabricated by individuals seeking notoriety and monetary gain," said Jeff Ostrow, personal counsel to the Pounceys.
The Pounceys are still facing a civil lawsuit from the alleged victims.

|(5/28/14) Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey, who tore several knee ligaments last September, was a full participant as the team opened OTAs. "I am out here, full-go," Pouncey told the team's website.
"It was a big step for my coaches to see it, my teammates to see it, and for me, it was pretty cool," he added. "I was able to block guys and finish on some plays. It was pretty awesome."
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was thrilled to have his Pro Bowl center back.
"He’s a comfort blanket, and he’s a leader of this team and a leader of the offensive line, and it’s just good to see him out there because he’s a football player and he loves the game," Roethlisberger said. "It was great to see as a friend. He’s a guy that worked so hard to get back out here, and it’s fun to see him back in the pads."
