Fantasy Analysis
McClain posted career highs in tackles last year with 99, adding five sacks, a safety and 14 passes defensed. But he's routinely criticized for being a mediocre player in the middle of the Raiders defense. The NFL might weigh in with a suspension here since McClain has clearly violated the personal conduct policy, and if he's in jail then he can't play football. For now, Fantasy owners shouldn't touch McClain. (Updated 05/17/2012).

Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain posted career highs in tackles last year with 99, adding five sacks, a safety and 14 passes defensed. But he also got into big trouble with the law. In mid-May he was sentenced to 180 days in jail by an Alabama court after being found guilty on all four misdemeanor charges he faced stemming from an incident last November. He was charged with third-degree assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm. McClain was released on bond; it is not known when he will serve his jail term. The NFL might weigh in with a suspension here since McClain has clearly violated the personal conduct policy, and if he's in jail then he can't play football. For now, owners shouldn't touch McClain but when playing regularly he's worth taking with a mid-round pick as a capable Fantasy starter. (Updated 5/17/12)
