McElroy affected by head games: Jets quarterback Greg McElroy dismissed reports that indicated he hid a concussion in order to stay active and said he feels "fine" now, The Star-Ledger reports. McElroy said he shrugged off the symptoms earlier in the week as general effects after a game following his first NFL start in Week 16. It was only on Thursday that we went to the coaching staff with the issue and was ultimately ruled out for the season finale. "I didn’t really have any symptoms after the game," said McElroy, who was sacked 11 times by the Chargers. "You’re going to be tired. You’re going to be worn out. You’re going to have a bit of a headache. All of those things are normal for after a game." (Updated 12/31/12)

Fantasy Analysis
McElroy was in line to finish the season as the Jets' starter before he was sidelined with the head injury and Mark Sanchez returned under center for Week 17 at Buffalo. But the second-year player refuted reports that claimed he was attempting to hide the injury in order to not miss any playing time. It's unclear how McElroy will factor into the team's quarterback situation for next season as the Jets retained coach Rex Ryan on Monday. Even if he does land the starting job, he is not considered a recommended Fantasy option in 2013 drafts. (Updated 12/31/12).
