|Nate Potter begins 'easy transition' to guard |
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
(9/5/13) Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Nate Potter has begun the transition from tackle to guard after losing out on the starting left tackle job to Levi Brown in the preseason. Arians added it should be an "easy transition" for Potter, who started working at guard Monday.
"He’s got the potential and he’s smart enough to be a four-(position) rotational guy," Arians said, per NFL.com. "He can play both sides. He already knows how to play both tackles."
|Levi Brown locked in as Cardinals' left tackle |
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
(8/28/13) Levi Brown is going to be the Cardinals' starting left tackle as challenger Nate Potter has not "made any inroads in displacing" him, reports the team's website. Brown missed all of last season with a torn right triceps muscle.
Brown struggled against San Diego's Dwight Freeney in the third preseason game.
“Overall, pass protection has not been a problem, until the other night,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said. “We didn’t game-plan Dwight Freeney as much as we would have and Dwight beat Levi. It comes down to a one-on-one game. If we feel that way going into a game (that the tackle might get beat), we’ll help the guy.”
