Fantasy Analysis
Bailey is proving he can still be an effective cornerback during his 13th NFL season as he picked off his first passes of the year. He isn't as dynamic as he was earlier in his career, but he still has some life on defense. Consider him a low-end option in deeper Fantasy IDP formats. (Updated 11/06/2011).
05/17/2012 01:11 10 questions for Pete Prisco on his Top 100 NFL Players list
Any time you rank the top 100 players in the NFL, there are bound to be questions. Will Brinson has 10 of them for Pete Prisco relating to things he thinks are slightly off about the list.
Champ Bailey remains one of the league's premier shutdown cornerbacks even at age 33. Even though most teams only throw his way a couple times a game, Bailey's 50 career interceptions rank first among cornerbacks since he entered the league as the seventh overall pick by the Redskins in 2009, and his 191 pass breakups are tops among players during the past 13 years. Bailey's stats aren't regularly impressive because he doesn't get thrown at a lot. That could change if his skills begin to deteriorate, which might happen down the line. For now, assume that Bailey will serve Fantasy owners as a good one-week replacement, potentially a regular No. 3 defensive back in deeper leagues. (Updated 4/25/12)
