Surgery ahead for Smith
(10/24/11) Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said Monday that DL Aaron Smith, placed on injured reserve Saturday, will undergo surgery soon. “He thought it was a function of playing,” Tomlin said. ”Once he hurt his ankle, he thought it would calm down, but it didn’t. [Doctors] evaluated it and looked at it and determined that it needs to be fixed.”
