Ricky officially retires
|(2/7/12) RB Ricky Williams announced Tuesday that he is retiring from the NFL. Williams, 34, recently completed his 11th NFL season and first with the Ravens. He appeared in 147 career games (83 starts), posting 2,431 carries for 10,009 rushing yards and 66 touchdowns. The 5-10, 230-pounder added 342 receptions for 2,606 receiving yards and eight touchdowns during his career. Williams amassed five 1,000-yard rushing seasons. The NFL has been an amazing page in this chapter of my life, Williams said. I pray that all successive adventures offer me the same potential for growth, success and most importantly, fun. I want to thank all my fans, teammates, coaches and supporters for the strength they've given me to overcome so much."|
Retire, Ricky, Retire?
|(2/7/12) Ricky Williams has told the Ravens he intends to retire, ProFootballTalk.com reports. Williams has contemplated retirement before, though, and has changed his mind, so he could end up coming back. Williams served as the backup to Ray Rice in Baltimore in 2011 and totaled 444 yards on 108 carries with two scores, adding 13 catches for 83 yards.|

While he didn't hit the career milestone, he still had a productive day for a backup RB. Williams rushed for 45 yards on 10 carries and added two catches for 21 yards in a 20-14 win.|
