Preseason Outlook

Stecker placed on IR: Tailback Aaron Stecker will miss the rest of this season with a hamstring injury. Stecker became the 13th member of the Saints' injured reserve list Tuesday. Stecker had been battling his injury since the first week of the season. He aggravated it on a 12-yard catch early in the first quarter Sunday at Kansas City and left the game.

Fantasy Analysis

Stecker's injury comes at a tough time for the Saints since Reggie Bush is out and Deuce McAllister is facing a possible suspension soon. Obviously, if he's out for the year, then Fantasy owners shouldn't have him on their rosters. Speculating with Pierre Thomas at this point wouldn't be a bad idea.

Saints RB Aaron Stecker played well in 2007 as an injury replacement for Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush, rushing for a career-high 448 yards. He decided to stay with New Orleans in 2008 and will again be a backup to McAllister and Bush. Look for Stecker to get some carries, especially if one or both starters are limited with injuries, but he should not be drafted in any Fantasy leagues coming into the season except as a deep reserve option.
