One big grab for Slater vs. Dolphins: Patriots WR Matthew Slater did not see many passes thrown his way in Week 1 against the Dolphins but he made his one catch count. He caught a 46 yards pass from QB Tom Brady in the 38-24 win. Slater was targeted two times. (Updated 09/12/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Both of Slater's targets on Monday were for big plays and he was able to come up with one of them. With all of the threats in the passing game for the Patriots, it's hard to believe that the 26-year-old is going to be a huge factor in the offense going forward but keep an eye on his progress just in case. Heading into Week 2 against the Chargers, however, continue to ignore Slater in the majority of Fantasy leagues. (Updated 09/12/2011).
02/03/2012 13:01 Genius Belichick throwing Edelman to wolves as DB? That's just stupid
Bill Belichick is a great coach. Maybe the greatest. Julian Edelman is a player to admire. But as a cornerback, he's also easy to beat. Gregg Doyel wants to know how Belichick can be stupid enough to line Edelman up on defense.
Matt Slater is a reserve wide receiver for the Patriots and spends most of his time on special teams. In two seasons, he has no catches and only one carry for 6 yards. He does play a role in the return game with 11 kickoff returns for 269 yards in 2009, but he should not be drafted in any standard Fantasy formats this season since he's still looking for his first NFL catch.
