Colts sign Walden: The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that former Packers linebacker Erik Walden signed a four-year, $16 million contract with the Colts on Tuesday. Walden said he had strong overtures from the Chiefs and Raiders. "Where I come from, it's a blessing," Walden said. "We'll take it and build from it. Indy made the most sense." In Indianapolis, Walden will have a solid chance to start at outside linebacker opposite Robert Mathis in a 3-4 defense. "The Colts gave us the best offer," Walden said. "They want us to come in as the starter. You can't beat that.

Walden played 70 percent of the defensive snaps in 2012, appearing to wear down at the end of the season. He still finished with 26.5 pressures (combination of sacks, knockdowns and hurries), ranking second behind Clay Matthews for a second straight year. In 2011, he had the exact same total of 26.5. Last spring, Walden was an unrestricted free agent as well before being resigned by the Packers on April 23 for one year at $725,000. He is worth a late-round flier in IDP leagues this season.
