|Colts inactives Week 3 |
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
(9/21/14) The Colts have listed WR Da'Rick Rogers, LB Jerrell Freeman, LB Chris Carter, OL Lance Louis, C Khaled Holmes, OL Joe Reitz and DL Arthur Jones as inactive Week 3 against the Jaguars.
Both Freeman and Jones had been ruled out prior to the final report being released. Holmes was considered probable, while Jones was listed as questionable. The other three players are healthy scratches.
|Jerrell Freeman still has shot at Sunday action |

(9/18/14) Colts linebacker Jerrell Freeman is still nursing a hamstring injury, but defensive coordinator Greg Manusky has not ruled him out for the Sunday game against Jacksonville, per the Indianapolis Star.
Freeman contributed seven tackles and one forced fumble in Week 1, but did not play Monday night against Philadelphia.
|Jerrell Freeman ruled out for Week 2, Josh McNary to start |
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(9/13/14) Colts head coach Chuck Pagano told reporters Saturday that starting linebacker Jerrell Freeman (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Eagles.
It's a blow to the team's pass defense, as Freeman is regarded as the defense's best coverage linebacker. In his absence, the start will go to Josh McNary, of whom Pagano said, "The guy can flat out run and cover," per Colts.com. Offensive lineman Joe Reitz has also been ruled out for Monday's game.
|Jerrell Freeman has earned a starting spot in the middle of the Colts defense, but he'll have some pretty serious company. That's because the Colts signed D'Qwell Jackson, formerly of the Browns, to help man the middle of their defense. It could mean a decline in production for Freeman, who had 126 tackles last season with 5.5 sacks, six passes defensed, two interceptions and a wild six forced fumbles. Jackson's arrival doesn't mean he'll hog tackles -- both guys will play enough to have plenty of opportunities to make plays -- but it does mean he could lose out on being the primary run-stuffer of the defense. We'd play it a little safe with Freeman and call him a low-end No. 2 Fantasy linebacker worth a middle- to late-round pick.
