Fantasy Analysis
Hawthorne is a tackling machine, but it remains to be seen if the Saints will keep him in the middle or move him outside. He's got potential to be a low-end No. 1 Fantasy LB in that defense -- we'll keep you posted. (Updated 04/03/2012).
David Hawthorne heads to New Orleans this season after he signed a five-year contract with the Saints. Hawthorne, who compiled 115 total tackles in 2011, now has three years in a row with at least 100 total tackles. Problem is, he might be asked to move outside in New Orleans as the Saints also signed Falcons inside linebacker Curtis Lofton. If he moves outside, Hawthorne will have a hard time getting to 100 total tackles, and that's the only reason to draft him. Play it safe and draft him as a No. 3 Fantasy linebacker until you know for sure where he's expected to line up for the Saints. He's late-round pick material. (Updated 4/25/12)
