(9/8/14) Bills linebacker Nigel Bradham is eligible to play in Week 2 against the Dolphins, after serving his one-game suspension Sunday against the Bears, and coach Doug Marrone said the team will benefit from his return during Monday's press conference.
"He was playing extremely well before, we're excited to have him back," Marrone said.
Bradham is expected to be in the linebacker rotation moving forward. He finished last season with 51 tackles in 16 games.
|Bills DST looking at rough Week 1 matchup |
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(9/4/14) The Bills have a tall order ahead defensively in Week 1 when they head to Chicago to take on the Bears.
Buffalo is still a good unit overall, one that should be able to record a good number of sacks over the course of the season and perhaps deliver solid turnover statistics with two quality cornerbacks in Stephon Gilmore and Leodis McKelvin. However, the team also lost Jairus Byrd in the offseason and will be looking to replace him internally. They lost star linebacker Kiko Alonso to a season-ending injury, and they won't have Nigel Bradham in this matchup due to a suspension.
Against a mediocre offense, those concerns may not be enough to shy away from them in Fantasy leagues. However, the Bills have to face a Bears offense that ranked eighth in the league in yardage and second in total points last season. The Bears retain all of their elite playmakers from last year, and while the team's cornerbacks may be able to have success bottling up big-play threat Alshon Jeffery, they likely won't have an answer for Brandon Marshall, Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett.
There will be weeks worth starting the Bills defense, but this is not one of them.

|Bills confirm Alonso has torn ACL |
|by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(7/2/14) Bills general manager Doug Whaley said in a statement Wednesday that linebacker Kiko Alonso tore his left ACL and "will most likely" miss the 2014 season.
"He will be scheduled for surgery in the near future and begin a rehabilitation program at the appropriate time," Whaley said. "We feel badly for Kiko because he has worked very hard this offseason in preparation for the upcoming season, but we look forward to his return with his style of play that made him one of the league's outstanding rookies in 2013."
Nigel Bradham and Preston Brown figure to be part of the competition to replace Alonso in the lineup this season.
