|Packers' cornerbacks ready to vie for playing time |
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
(7/14/13) At the end of the 2012 season, Packers cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt said he had no idea who his starting cornerbacks would be at the beginning of the 2013 season. Those comments continue to resonate with Tramon Williams, who has been a five-year starter for Green Bay.
"I talked to Joe because he's always been a straight-up guy," Williams said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "But I don't see it as anything being different. I'm preparing to be the starter, just like I always have and I'm planning on being there when the season begins."
Though, with Charles Woodson no longer on the roster, there will be more chances for Sam Shields, Casey Hayward and Davon House to get on the field.
"The way Joe put it out there is that we all have a chance," Hayward said. "And it's going to be a great competition. I feel like we have four starters. All of us have started some games and we all have some experience."

|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
(8/30/12) Green bay cornerback Davon House told reporters that he is hopeful of playing come Week 1 of the regular season against the 49ers. House suffered a separated left shoulders and will not require surgery. "What I was told, if it was to pop out again, then I'll have to get surgery," House said. "As long as it doesn't pop out again, I'll play with the harness on. Hopefully it doesn't pop out at all."
