Opportunity coming for Rams' Pead: Rams coach Jeff Fisher is certain that Isaiah Pead's weak rookie stats were because he was parked behind Steven Jackson and Daryl Richardson on the depth chart. That's going to change with Jackson moving on to Atlanta. "He'll get his opportunity this year," Fisher said per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. ... He's got a chance to make a lot of big plays for us." Fantasy Analysis
Fisher also hinted at a bigger role for Pead when he ruled out his availability on returning punts, noting "you typically don’t use one of your top backs as a returner." Fisher also hinted that Richardson would be used more in passing situations, opening the door for Pead to play on running downs. Pead joined the Rams after a stellar college career at Cincinnati where he totaled just over 4,000 yards in 44 games. If he can split the rushing workload with Richardson then the potential is there for him to have a solid season and especially be a sleeper on Draft Day. Right now Pead looks like a decent mid-round gamble. (Updated 3/21/13).
