Crennel: Maturity an issue for Baldwin: Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel does believe that second-year receiver Jon Baldwin can become an effective component of the offense in 2012, but he has to mature first. "We expect him to make improvement and progress this year," Crennel said. "He has his feet wet now, and I think he understands what it's going to take for him to be a really good receiver, and I think he's willing to work at it, so we have to get him to work at it and also develop him they way that he needs to develop to be the type of receiver we need. ... You know how these young guys are, they think they hung the moon. And now they have to find out that they didn't hang the moon, and now there's a process about becoming a pro. How do you go about the work in the classroom, how do you go about your work on the practice field? How do you go about playing the game itself? And so he has to mature in all those areas, and having had a taste of it last year, I think that will help him make that progression this year." (Updated 03/29/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Baldwin had a very quiet year thanks in part to being inactive to start the season. He caught 21 passes for 254 yards and a score, with 82 of those yards and a score coming against the Chargers on Halloween. He's got tons of potential being that he's a big target with a good opportunity in front of him, but he's more of a reserve Fantasy receiver worth a late-round flier. (Updated 03/29/2012).
