Jets DE Muhammad Wilkerson leaves practice with hamstring injury

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(8/2/15) Jets defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson left Sunday's training camp practice early after suffering a hamstring injury .

Jets DE Muhammad Wilkerson in camp, 'frustrated' with deal

by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(7/30/15) Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson did indeed report to the start of training camp Wednesday, but remains "frustrated" with his contract status, per ESPN.com.

"It is a little frustrating, but at the end of the day I am happy to be out here with my teammates and get the season going," Wilkerson said.

The veteran is seeking a big-money, long-term contract, and hopes to work out a new deal with the Jets before the start of the season. If not, he will make $6.97 million and become a free agent - at which point, the Jets could apply the franchise tag.

Wilkerson has racked up 16 sacks over the past two seasons.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(6/9/15) Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson is willing to put his team ahead of his own contract desires, agent Chad Wiestling told Associated Press.

Wilkerson ended speculation that he would hold out by attending minicamp.

"Mo is and always has been a team-first player, and is willing to put the team ahead of his own contractual status," Wiestling said. "Mo loves being a member of the Jets and would prefer to finish his career in New York."

Wilkerson did not participate in previous offseason activities, including OTAs.
