Wilkerson can become a free agent after the 2015 season and signing Wilkerson to a long-term deal will be a topic of discussion when the front office meets Tuesday.
"I think that's something that we'll be looking at, starting Tuesday, when we get our first staff in there," Johnson said. "We're going to take a look at Mo; Mo's obviously a great player. In terms of getting all that going, I'm sure that will be one of their priorities."
Wilkerson played in 13 games during 2014 season and registered 56 tackles and six sacks.

Jets DE Wilkerson limited in practice; could be done for year
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(12/17/14) Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson participated in positional drills to start practice Wednesday, but was later deemed limited.
Wilkerson has missed the last three games with a toe injury.
Rex Ryan admitted that he Wilkerson could be sidelined from game action the rest of the year.
|Muhammad Wilkerson showed in 2013 that he could be a must-start defensive lineman in IDP leagues when he had 10.5 sacks, 64 total tackles (43 solo), one interception and three pass defenses. Wilkerson should be considered a No. 1 defensive lineman coming into the season based on his potential to continue to improve. Plan on drafting Wilkerson with a mid-round pick, and hopefully another year of double digits in sacks will follow.
