Dennard sentenced to jail: Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has been sentenced to two years of probation and 30 days of jail for assaulting a police officer in Lincoln, Neb., last year. A jury in February found Dennard guilty of the felony charge and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. The former Nebraska player was acquitted of third-degree assault against another man.

| Fantasy Analysis |
The fight occurred five days before the 2012 NFL Draft. Dennard was the 2011 Big Ten defensive back of the year and had been projected to be a second- or third-round pick before his arrest. Dennard's a decent player but a suspension might be coming his way. We'll see. Either way, he's just not worth starting in Fantasy.

2013 NFL Draft: New England Patriots spotlight
The good news for Patriots fans is that they still have Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and exciting young talent on defense. The bad news? They only have five picks in the 2013 draft, including zero in rounds 4-6, which could once again make the Patriots one to watch for trade activity.

Patriots CB Alfonzo Dennard sentenced to 30 days in jail
In February, Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was convicted of assaulting a police officer. On Thursday morning, he learned that his punishment won't affect his football preparation.
