Ladarius Green's role grows in Week 3
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(4:40 pm ET) After a mostly-quiet first two weeks to the season, Chargers tight end Ladarius Green started to show his skills in a 22-10 win over the Bills in Week 3.

Green, who had just two receptions in the first two games, hauled in four passes this time around. He was targeted six times and ended up with 64 yards on the game, good for second on the team.

Green has six receptions for 88 yards on eight targets through two games, with the Chargers set to take on the Jaguars in Week 4.

Antonio Gates played twice as much as Ladarius Green
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/9/14) Chargers tight end Antonio Gates played 54 snaps in Monday's loss at Arizona, compared to 26 snaps for promising backup Ladarius Green, per Pro Football Focus. Gates ran 37 pass routes while Green ran just 10. Green was used as a blocker on 16 of his 26 snaps.

Gates caught six passes on 10 targets for 81 yards. Green hauled in both his targets for 24 yards.

Ladarius Green plays second fiddle
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/9/14) Chargers tight end Ladarius Green did not begin fulfilling his breakout potential Week 1 against the Cardinals. He was targeted just twice, catching both passes for 24 yards.

Green, 24, remains way behind starter Antonio Gates in terms of opportunities. Gates drew a game-high 10 targets and paced San Diego with six catches for 81 yards.

Green faces the Seahawks in Week 2.

Antonio Gates a big obstacle for Ladarius Green
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/3/14) Ladarius Green, who caught three touchdowns in the final six games last year, is the Chargers' tight end of the future. But Antonio Gates is still the starter. Judging by their usage in August, coaches remain more comfortable with Gates in single-tight end sets.

In the 28 preseason snaps played by quarterback Philip Rivers, Gates played 26 and Green 13. In the dress rehearsal game, Gates caught all three of his targets for 28 yards and a touchdown. Green caught one of three targets for 5 yards.

Gates is 34, but he's healthy and in terrific shape. Until he breaks down, Green is not going to be playable in standard leagues.

The Chargers open the season Monday night in Arizona. It's a wonderful matchup, as the Cardinals allowed a league-high 13.3 Fantasy points per game to tight ends last year. Consider Gates a borderline TE1 for Week 1.

With Gates out, Ladarius Green plays big for Bolts
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(8/8/14) The Chargers were without the services of tight end Antonio Gates on Thursday night against the Cowboys, giving Ladarius Green an opportunity to show off what he could do. Green came through with flying colors, catching two of four completions by Philip Rivers for 26 total yards.

His first catch came on a short dump-off pass over the middle of the field where Green dwarfed Cowboys defenders. His second catch was an impressive leap near the sideline for 20 yards when Rivers found him on a broken play. Green will look for more numbers at the Seahawks on Aug. 15.
