Colts to target Ravens OLB Pernell McPhee in free agency

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(2/25/15) With Ravens outside linebacker Pernell McPhee likely to hit the free agent market this March, one team has already emerged as an interested party.

According to CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, the Colts are expected to target McPhee when the new league year begins. McPhee's camp is looking for a contract that pays him in the area of $8 million to $10 million per season.

At Tuesday's state of the Ravens press conference, general manager Ozzie Newsome hinted that it would be near impossible to match what other teams are willing to pay McPhee.

"We can't pay everybody market value," Newsome said.

McPhee totaled 7.5 sacks in 2014.

"We can't pay everybody market value," Newsome said.

McPhee becomes a free agent in March, after a 7.5 sack season. He's believed to be seeking $8 million a year.
