Mohamed Sanu another Golden Tate

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/26/14) Everyone who plays Fantasy Football has a right to envy the Golden Tate owner, with one exception: the Mohamed Sanu owner. Tate and Sanu are one and the same, you see.

Both were worth rostering on their own merits, so it's not like everyone had an equal shot at them on the waiver wire. Both have capitalized on injuries to star teammates to become bona fide Fantasy studs.

The jury was still out on Sanu, I guess, prior to Week 8 against Baltimore, when he had five catches for 125 yards and two rushes for 27 yards. I say "I guess" because I didn't see much reason to doubt him after his three-catch, 54-yard effort in Week 7. Like Tate, he's had one so-so performance in a starring role but has gone for well more than 100 yards in every other chance.

Of course, like Tate, his time in the spotlight may be nearing an end. A.J. Green, who's recovering from a toe injury, said he was about 80 percent for Sunday's game, up from 40 percent in Week 7. Another week could bring that percentage to 100.

But again, Sanu was worth rostering on his own merits prior to Green's injury and now has an even better rapport with quarterback Andy Dalton. He's not an automatic sit if Green returns, but he's an automatic start if he doesn't.

Mohamed Sanu leads Bengals air attack in Week 8 win

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10/26/14) Bengals wide receiver Mohamed Sanu served as Andy Dalton's primary option once again with A.J. Green sidelined Sunday, catching a team-high five passes on nine targets for 125 yards in Cincinnati's 27-24 win over Baltimore in Week 8.

Sanu's highlight came on the first drive of the game, as the receiver executed a stab-and-grab on an overthrown ball to haul in a juggling catch before racking up yards after the catch en route to a 48-yard play. He also added 27 rushing yards on two carries, including a 26-yard scamper on a reverse from midfield. Sanu has 35 receptions for 533 yards and three touchdowns.

The rest of the Bengals performed well with their limited chances in the passing game. Tight end Jermaine Gresham caught all four of his targets for 34 yards, Greg Little caught three of his five targets for 42 yards and Brandon Tate added two more catches for 30 yards, helping Andy Dalton to deliver an excellent 9.5 yards-per-attempt mark.

The Bengals will face the Jaguars at home in Week 9.

Bengals struggles cost Mohamed Sanu

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Mohamed Sanu failed to make much of an impact in Week 7 against the Colts, but that might have been more the result of the Bengals' general offensive malaise than any failing on his part.

It is awfully hard to take anything from Sunday's game, as the Bengals were just out of sync all game long on offense. Sanu still racked up 54 yards on three receptions, and had nine passes thrown his way. Entering play Sunday, he had caught 67.5 percent of the passes thrown his way, so this is probably just a one-time issue.

Sanu is clearly the team's top option in the passing game with A.J. Green sidelined, but he cannot do it all by himself. Expect better from him in Week 8 against the Ravens.

Bengals WR Mohamed Sanu snags three in shutout loss

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Wide receiver Mohamed Sanu led the Bengals in receiving yards Sunday against the host Colts. That's not saying much.

Sanu accounted for nearly half of the team's output through the air with 54 yards on three receptions. But he was targeted nine times. His afternoon was not made any more pleasant when he tried to pass the ball - the result was a sack.

Perhaps next Sunday against Baltimore will prove to be a nicer experience for Sanu.

Mohamed Sanu heads into difficult matchup

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/17/14) Bengals wide receiver Mohamed Sanu has played well in a larger role over the last two weeks and will try to stay on that roll when Cincy takes on the Colts in Week 7.

Sanu has been forced into a much larger role with A.J. Green's injury, and has responded with 15 receptions for 190 yards and two touchdowns over the last two games. With Green likely to sit out with a toe injury again Sunday, Sanu should get the chance to shine again in Week 7.

The Colts have done a solid job against opposing wide receivers this season, holding them to 14.3 Fantasy points per game. Individual receivers have notched just three double-digit Fantasy scoring games so far, although Andre Johnson did record 99 yards and a touchdown last week against the Colts.

The Bengals are down two of their top three receivers, so Sanu should continue to see plenty of work. Even against a tough matchup, his expected workload makes Sanu a solid starting option for Week 7.
