Lions activate T LaAdrian Waddle, DE Jason Jones off PUP list

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(8/23/15) The Lions have announced that they have activated two starters - defensive end Jason Jones and right tackle LaAdrian Waddle - off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Wadde has recovered from a partially torn ACL while Jones was dealing with a knee ailment that required surgery.

Lions OT LaAdrian Waddle on return: 'We're getting close'

by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer
(8/5/15) Lions offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle is feeling confident his return from offseason knee surgery is getting closer, according to Mlive.com.

Waddle, who is on the physically unable to perform list, says he hasn't experienced any pain or tightness and is progressing to football activities as a part of his rehab.

"It's just day by day, just seeing how the knee feels when we come out here and do some stuff," Waddle said. "Just the next day, seeing how it feels after getting after it a little bit.

"I think we're getting really close. I've been out here running good, feeling good when I was running. No pain, no tightness afterward, so I think we're getting close."

Waddle is hopeful he will be ready for the Lions' season opener against the Chargers on Sept. 13.

"I do think there's a chance," he said. "We're still working hard to keep progressing, doing more things gradually, and we'll just see where that takes us."

Lions OT LaAdrian Waddle's recovery is ahead of schedule

by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer
(6/12/15) Lions offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle is way ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL, per mlive.com.

Waddle tore the ACL in a Week 15 game against the Vikings last season, and has been rehabbing the knee for about nine months. Recovering from an ACL tear usually takes around nine months.

"Knee's feeling good -- feeling real good, actually," Waddle said. "I think I'm a little ahead of schedule. It's been going really well, we haven't had any kind of setbacks. Each day I feel like I'm getting a little better. Hopefully I'll be back sooner than later."

Waddle's recovery might put him on the field for the Lions' Week 1 game this season.

"I think there's a chance," he said. "It just kind of depends on how the rest of the rehab goes. Just going in, working hard every day and trying to get better."

Lions' LaAdrian Waddle begins running again

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(5/15/15) Lions right tackle LaAdrian Waddle has begun running, as he continues to recover from January knee surgery.

Waddle has felt ready to begin running for some time, but he is sticking with the prescribed schedule.

"It’s hard to hold back," Waddle said, per NFL.com. "I’m not going to lie. I’m doing everything I’m supposed to do. There’s no point in pushing it and doing something stupid and make everything you did worth nothing. I’m pushing it as much as I can push it."

Lions' Riley Reiff open to playing right tackle

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(3/30/15) Lions coach Jim Caldwell said that Riley Reiff might start at right tackle next season.

Reiff has started 32 games at left tackle over the last two seasons. The Lions aren't sure that last year's right tackle LaAdrian Waddle will be fully recovered from knee surgery, and backup tackle Cornelius Lucas is better on the left side.

Reiff told the Daily Republic he doesn't care where he plays.

"I like playing, and wherever they want to put me, that's fine. I'll play," he said.
