Eric Fisher showing marked improvement

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/30/14) Chiefs coach Andy Reid singled out left tackle Eric Fisher following Monday's whipping of the Patriots. Reid said Fisher, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 draft, has gotten better each week this season.

"We feel very good about him and how he handles things," Reid told the team's website. "He's a good football player and he's young. You get picked number one and it comes with a little scrutiny. You're going to have a few eyes on you, but he's done a nice job this year."

Chiefs announce inactives for Thursday game

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(8/28/14) The Chiefs have announced their inactives for their Thursday preseason finale in Green Bay. Only linebacker Joe Mays (wrist) and wideout Junior Hemingway (hip) are listed as injured.

The other inactives are tackle Eric Fisher, defensive end Mike Catapano, wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and linebacker Tamba Hali.

Eric Fisher getting an early start

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/22/14) Chiefs left tackle Eric Fisher, last year's No. 1 overall pick, practiced with rookies and fringe players at Tuesday's minicamp ahead of the full-squad training camp that opens Thursday, reports ESPN.com. Fisher is coming back from shoulder and sports hernia surgeries.

"I had the surgeries, so I needed to get out here, get situated before the vets get here," Fisher said. "I’m glad to be here early so I can get a jump on things."

Fisher played right tackle last year, so the extra time should help him adjust to protecting Alex Smith's blind side. He said he hasn't lost strength despite not being able to bench press following the shoulder operation.

"I’ve been in there working," he said. "When you can’t bench, there’s other things you can do. That’s what I was doing."

Eric Fisher expected back for training camp

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/13/14) Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Friday that he expects offensive tackle Eric Fisher to be ready for the start of training camp.

Fisher is working his way back from shoulder and sports hernia operations. He's expected to play at left tackle.

Eric Fisher recovering from shoulder, hernia operations

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/21/14) Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Monday that offensive tackle Eric Fisher had shoulder and sports-hernia operations, reports the Kansas City Star. Reid said Fisher "has been rehabbing and doing well."

The report didn't say anything else about Fisher's status, but Fisher said he played last year between 295 to 300. He hopes to play between 310 to 315 this year, so it sounds like he should be ready for training camp.
