Julian Edelman still a pass-catching machine
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/21/14) Even though the Patriots offense wasn't clicking Week 3 against Oakland, putting up just 16 points, wide receiver Julian Edelman continued to pile up the receptions, hauling in a season-high 10 for 84 yards. Brandon LaFell and Shane Vereen tied for second-most on the Patriots with four. Edelman's 13 targets also led the team.

Of course, Edelman wasn't able to get many yards after the catch, which is part of the reason why he had so many receptions. His longest was only 15 yards. Still, with quarterback Tom Brady relying on short, high-percentage passes while the offense tries to find its rhythm, Edelman has proven to be the go-to guy.

He'll look to keep it going Week 4 at Kansas City, a team that struggled against the pass in its first two games.

Julian Edelman active for Week 3

(9/21/14) Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who was limited in practice all week by a back injury, is active for Week 3 against the Raiders. He was considered probable going into the game.
Two Patriots standouts probable for clash against Raiders
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/19/14) Patriots prime pass-catchers Julian Edelman (back) and Rob Gronkowski (knee) have been listed as probable for the Week 3 game against Oakland. They are all but set to start.
Julian Edelman limited due to back injury
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9/17/14) Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was limited in practice Wednesday.

Edelman is dealing with a back injury. It's unclear whether the injury is serious. If Edelman shows improvement during the week, he should play Week 3.

Julian Edelman most efficient Pats receiver by far
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/16/14) Patriots receiver Julian Edelman has accounted for more than 44 percent of Tom Brady's passing yards through two games. He's caught 80 percent of his targets (12 of 15), and 27 percent of Brady's completions overall.

Edelman leads New England and ranks 11th in the NFL with 176 receiving yards. Only tight end Rob Gronkowski, with 17 targets, has had more passes thrown his way by Brady.

"I'm going to go out there and do my job and that's to get open and catch the ball," Edelman told ESPN.com. "I'm not the quarterback, so I'm sure -- it's only two games, there's a lot of season left -- there are going to be games where other guys are going to get more rocks than me. But I'm just going to continue to try to get better and do my job."

Edelman also has 30 rushing yards this season.
