Redskins WR Ryan Grant impressing coaches

by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer
(6/19/15) Redskins wide receiver Ryan Grant is standing out during offseason practices and coaches are taking notice, per ESPN.com.

“He’s awesome, man. He really is,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said. “He runs every route exactly like you tell him to run it. He doesn’t make any mental mistakes. He’s got big, strong hands. It’s just right now with Pierre, DeSean. Andre, we draft Crowder, it’s a crowded room right now with a lot of skill.

“But I won’t hesitate one bit whether he’s our starting Z, starting X, starting inside player, what have you. I think as a wide receiver he’s very polished and he’s just waiting his turn. He is ready to go, though. I promise you that. I love Ryan Grant and what he is and what he’s about.”

Despite Grant's emergence during offseason practices, he'll likely end up as the fourth or fifth receiver on the team's depth chart.

Washington's backup receivers do little Week 14

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12/7/14) Washington's backup receivers did little Week 14 against the Rams.

Santana Moss managed to pick up some slack with DeSean Jackson out. He finished second on the team in receiving yards, picking up 43 yards on three receptions. Tight end Jordan Reed also had three catches, gaining 25 yards. Andre Roberts hauled in two balls, picking up 11 yards. Niles Paul had one catch for 7 yards. Ryan Grant also had one catch. He finished with 4 yards.

The group will look for more Week 15 against the Giants.

Ryan Grant finds his role in Week 2

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/14/14) Redskins wide receiver Ryan Grant played a surprisingly large role in the offense Sunday, in a 41-10 win over the Jaguars in Week 2.

Grants, who had no receptions in his NFL debut last week, was second on the team with eight targets Sunday. He hauled in five of those passes for 57 yards in the win.

Grant was targeted all eight times by Kirk Cousins in the game, who took over following Robert Griffin's ankle injury. He will try to build on Sunday's performance when they take on the Eagles in Week 3.

Ryan Grant 'looks like he's been here for 10 years'

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(8/3/14) Redskins rookie receiver Ryan Grant, a fifth-round pick out of Tulane, has impressed coaches with his savvy play during camp, reports the Washington Post. With DeSean Jackson resting his sore legs Saturday, Grant took some reps with the starters.

"Every rookie handles [their first training camp] differently," coach Jay Gruden said. "Some rookies are basket cases, some are cool, calm and collected. Ryan Grant looks like he’s been here for 10 years. He’s handled it perfectly."

Ryan Grant playing like 10-year vet

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(5/18/14) Redskins rookie wideout Ryan Grant, a fifth-round pick out of Tulane, "plays like a 10-year veteran already," coach Jay Gruden said. "He’s very smooth. He understands route concepts. He understand depths and how important they are and how to set people up. ... Easy in and out of breaks, effortlessly.

"He had a couple drops, [but he was] a little nervous I’m sure. Very, very excited to have Ryan [with] that ability, and like I said, when we drafted him, the ability to be able move him around outside and inside I think is a huge benefit for us and him. He’s going to be a very good football player."
