|Stud Steelers ready to go Week 2 |
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
(9/11/14) The Steelers will go into Week 2 with all of their stud offensive players.
A number of important players entered the week listed as probable on the injury report. Nearly all of them are active Week 2 against the Steelers. Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Heath Miller, Ben Roethlisberger, Cody Wallace and Markus Wheaton were all cleared to play. While they were all on the injury report, only Wallace was dealing with an injury. The rest missed practice for non-injury reasons.
On defense, the Steelers will have Brett Keisel, Steve McLendon, Troy Polamalu, Ike Taylor, Shamarko Thomas and Vince Williams. Wallace was dealing with an ankle issue, but the rest were listed for non-injury reasons.

|Injured Steelers questionable for Week 2 |
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(9/8/14) The Steelers have just three days off until their next game Thursday against the Ravens, which might not give their injured players enough time to get back on the field.
Coach Mike Tolmlin told reporters in his press conference Monday that running back Dri Archer and safety Shamarko Thomas both suffered ankle injuries in Week 1 against the Browns Sunday. Both players will be considered questionable for Week 2, along with wide receivers Martavis Bryant (shoulder) and Lance Moore (groin), and defensive back Brice McCain (groin) will also be questionable for Thursday after missing Sunday's game.
|Report guesses Troy Polamalu will retire after 2014 |
|by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(5/23/14) Troy Polamalu has been a staple in the Steelers secondary since being taken with a first-round pick in the 2003 draft. But reporter Ron Cook with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says his "best guess" is that this will be Polamalu's last season.
Cook brought up the issue when writing about safety Shamarko Thomas, one of many second-year players expected to contribute for the Steelers. Thomas figures to be the top backup safety in 2014.
Polamalu is under contract through the 2016 season.
|Steelers defense in good health for Thursday's kickoff |
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(11/28/13) The Steelers defense is in good shape for Week 13 against the Ravens, as only LaMarr Woodley (calf) was unable to play through his injury Thursday. Linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (hamstring), defensive lineman Brett Keisel (foot), and defensive backs Shamarko Thomas (ankle) and Troy Polamalu (not injury related) were all able to play despite being listed on the injury report.
