(9/7/14) Browns cornerback Buster Skrine has overcome a thumb injury that limited him in the preseason to be active for the season opener Sunday against the host Steelers. Skrine, who had been deemed probable, could work both wide and in the slot.

(9/3/14) Browns defensive lineman Desmond Bryant was unable to practice Wednesday as he recovers from wrist surgery, and he remains questionable for Sunday's game.
Offensive lineman Paul McQuistan (ankle) also missed practice, while linebacker John Hughes (hamstring) was a limited participant. Both linebacker Eric Martin (concussion) and cornerback Buster Skrine (thumb) participated fully.

(8/29/14) Browns cornerback Buster Skrine is no longer wearing a hard cast on his right arm and hand, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Skrine is just 10 days removed from thumb surgery and is wearing a soft cast. He is listed as week to week, leaving his status up in the air for Week 1 against Pittsburgh.

(8/23/14) The Browns have a lengthy list of players sidelined for Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, as a result of a slew of injuries in recent weeks.
Defensive backs Buster Skrine (thumb) and Joe Haden (foot), and wide receiver Nate Burleson (hamstring) headline the list. Also among the inactives are: running back Edwin Baker (hamstring), defensive backs Pierre Desir (knee), Isaiah Trufant (knee), T.J. Heath (hip) and K'Waun Williams (hamstring), linebackers Eric Martin (concussion), Darius Eubanks (shoulder) and Keith Pough (ankle), defensive lineman Desmond Bryant (wrist), tight end Martell Webb (groin) and offensive linemen Michael Bowie (shoulder), Randall Harris (knee) and Nick McDonald (wrist).
